We believe in purposeful training to ensure young athletes not only retain information but also experience quality repetitions with a low player-to-coach ratio. Recognizing that every athlete learns differently, our coaching methods are tailored to individual needs—whether it's verbal communication, visual aids, or precise coach demonstrations.

As Bruce Lee wisely said, "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast." Our program is designed to break away from the traditional "go hard and go fast" approach. We focus on learning techniques in a controlled environment, providing practical applications, and culminating in small area games to empower athletes to make informed decisions.

***sign up closed - Completely Full*** President’s Day mite/ squirt Puck Control Camp

*camp sign up has been closed. This day is Full

Ford Hockey School is excited to announce a Mite/ Squirt President Day Camp at Hot Shots in Lake Bluff.

February 19th

We like to think our school stands out from the rest because we pay attention to the details.  Ford Hockey School believes in training our young athletes with purpose.  Athletes retain more information and get quality repetitions with a low player: coach ratio. Every athlete learns differently you can't coach them the same, some need to hear expectations communicated, others need it drawn up on the board, and the rest need to watch their coaches execute it with precision.

When learning something new the old school thought process of "go hard and go fast", doesn't always work, too often they revert back to their old habits.  As Bruce Lee says.

"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast".  Or the idea of walk, crawl,  run.  At FHS we program to learn the techniques in a controlled environment, offer environments to apply it, and then give them opportunities in small area games to make decisions.

9:00 am - Campers check- in and get dressed

9:30am - Campers take the ice

9:30 to 11:15 am - On-ice skills / skating/ drills

Closed toed shoes- Campers will have gear on all day but we will take off skates during lunch, video and off-ice activities.
